Emergency Gas Information
If there’s a fire, always call emergency services on 000.
If it’s safe, turn the gas off at the meter and try using a fire blanket or extinguisher to put the fire out.
To report a gas leak or other gas emergency call 1802 111.
If you can smell gas, don’t ignore it. Trust your senses.
- Turn the gas off at the meter;
- Extinguish all flames in the area. Don’t smoke or use matches.
- Don't operate electric switches or devices.
- If the smell is inside, open all doors and windows.
- Ask people to stay away.
